JD of Production manager

• Represent the plant in the production strategy development and goal setting process. (production costs, equipment utilization, production reliability, etc.)
• Provide leadership, coaching and expectations for the personnel participating in the production goal and budget setting processes. Challenge teams and individuals in production to set, monitor and achieve goals aligned to the production strategies and goals.
• Achieve EHS goals set by EHS Department and comply with regulatory and permit requirements. Demonstrate priority and commitment through personal behavior.
• Create an environment that fosters production team and individual empowerment. Establish and model expected behaviors for an empowered organization.
• Personally communicate and establish communication and learning systems. Ensure implementation and ongoing effectiveness of work processes, Operating Discipline, management systems.
• Ensure necessary resources are in place to meet production requirements and achieve the production specific goals.
• Ensure systems are in place to reduce variation, produce quality products and meet customer needs.
• Provide administrative leadership and coaching to the production personnel. (i.e. role clarity and expectations, employee development, deployment, recognition systems, etc.)
• Ensure the production team to cooperate with other functions effectively. (i.e. Maintenance, EHS, Logistics, etc.)
• To sum up, production manager will have overall responsibility to manage operation of the entire production site and to achieve optimum productivity, quality and costs. The job will involve production planning, trouble shooting of unit operations and processes and participation in yearly production budget preparations. Proper coordination with Engineering, EHS and Logistics will be part of the job.
